Many users want to know the number of words in the current Word document when they use Word2010 to edit the document. In Word2003, users can get Word count information by clicking the Tools Word Count menu command to open the Word Count dialog box. In Word2010, users need to switch to the review ribbon and click the Word Count button on the Proofing tab, as shown in Figure 2011060901.

Opens the Word Count dialog box, where users can see statistics such as "word count", "character count", and so on, as shown in Figure 2011060902.

Users can also view the number of words in the current Word document in real time in the Word2010 status bar, but cannot get additional statistics, as shown in Figure 2011060903.
