Use the Insert key to select Word 2010 insert and Overwrite modes

In the Word 2010 document window, users can choose Insert and overwrite mode not only in the status bar of the Word Options dialog box, but also by using the INSERT key to toggle Insert and overwrite edit modes. To use the Insert key, you must enable the feature in the Word Options dialog box, as described in the following procedure:

Step 1th, open the Word 2010 document window, and click the file → options button, as shown in Figure 2009121603.

Step 2nd, in the Open Word Options dialog box, switch to the Advanced tab, select the Insert control overwrite mode check box in the Edit Options area, and click the OK button, as shown in Figure 2009121604.

With the above settings, you can use the INSERT key to toggle Insert and overwrite edit modes.
