Use the win xp Recovery Console to repair damaged dual-boot menus

 

Windows XP is installed in Windows 98, which automatically generates a dual-Start Menu, which is quite convenient. Windows XP is an extremely stable operating system, but the files of the dual-Start Menu are usually under the C-drive root directory, which is easy to be damaged. Although you can back up files related to dual-boot, you can also use Ghost to back up the entire C drive, or create an emergency repair floppy disk for recovery when the damage occurs. However, if the user does not make a backup with carelessness, what should I do if there is no urgent restoration of the floppy disk? Do you want to reinstall Windows XP? How many other software ?! In fact, we have another last trick: Restore the console.
You need to select a new installation when the installation file is copied, restart the computer, and choose to enter the Recovery Console. The console will prompt you which WindowsXP to log on to for installation, generally, select the default "1" and enter the system administrator password. Then you enter the Windows directory on the console and enter "BOOTCFG/ADD". The console will scan for Windows installation, after scanning is completed in a few seconds, the system prompts you to select the installation to be added, select "1", and then prompts you to enter the loading identifier. You can enter "Microsoft WindowsXP Professional", prompting you to enter the OS loading option, type fastdetect, press enter, type "EXIT", and restart the computer. You can see that the familiar dual-boot menu is back. After entering the system, delete all the files and folders with "$" in all the partitions.
