Use VC to read DWORD data in the Registry

When you use the getstrvalue function in the previous article "implementation source code for operating the registry in VC" to read the DWORD type, garbled characters are obtained. This is because after reading the DWORD type, it is converted to the character type, so if you want to get the DWORD type, you need to perform a forced type conversion, the method is as follows:

Regeditop. getstrvalue (hkey) (IT-> strmainkey), IT-> strpath, IT-> strkeyname, szvalue, dkeytype, dlength)

Lpbyte lpvar;
Lpvar = (lpbyte) szvalue. getbuffer ();
DWORD * pdval = (DWORD *) lpvar;
DWORD dtempvar = * pdval;

In this case, dtempvar is a value of the same DWORD type as that in the registry.
