User Experience Design: whether the design conforms to the user's actual

Recently I often said that a word makes some people uncomfortable, that is "fool users", many students think I arrogant, do not respect the user. I also reflect on my recent period of expression, there are a lot of people are refined out of the lack of interpretation, there are some simplified statements, there may be some are not understood, worried that some students to distract attention to my comment attitude is biased and targeted, I would clarify, It is worth advocating to test each other and share ideas.

Arrogant, not respecting the user? In fact, I never think that the user has intelligent, advanced, stupid, low-level points, in the designer's eyes, the user is equal and need to be respected, UCD concept from the USER, the user only needs level of division. On the contrary, designers have these levels of distinction, some people for a long time it is difficult to understand why their design is not accepted by users and opinionated, which is a common problem for some designers, very concerned about their own solution can be accepted. Obviously I've been through this period before.

And I'm still a nagging critic, and I'll stick to it. And sometimes, I really only know that this must be bad, as for what the better way, I need the right remedy to think, to prepare the plan, not to shoot the head can answer. For the product team, valuable criticism is something I really want to win. Only high quality criticism is enough for us to make the right decision.

I say fool user, meaning remind oneself and everybody always reflect oneself of design to meet the user actual, and this is like the Dharma sword hanging in my heart, and I believe in the confusion and anxiety that I had before I found the way, like this one in the illustration of design , a very confusing group, Concept prototype is a anxious stage, to find that smooth single line, need to go through a lot of effort, so the concept of design is not like some designers do, think so easily fun, but more brain and mental energy. More test of a person's system design capabilities and architectural capabilities.

I have always thought that this is a good designer should have the basic quality of their own every drop of design thinking to do careful consideration, rather than misuse of imagination, creativity and expressiveness, to strive for each design according to the basis, hit the needs and the essence. At least users in your mind should have a general shape and outline, of course, so people do this is not easy, so can only ask themselves.

The Fool users mentioned here should not be a derogatory word, but the neutral words like instamatics, the characteristics of the fool-style behavior, are simple, clear, straightforward, accurate metaphor (even metaphor is cost risk). Without any description of the designer, the user will be able to read the story you want to describe and easy to use, of course, there is no clear demarcation line, Google's products often need to assist the description and hints, so said here is only a limit of their own high standards and ideas. Try to reach it, avoid low-level errors connected guan, and finally push into the hands of users.

For PM, based on the actual user is whether or not accurate grasp, straight hit the key, quickly rejected unreasonable plan. This is also the most basic quality of the position, we have no patience to listen to a flawed point of view and speeches, many times, PM on whether or not the judgment is basically intuitive to reflect his comprehensive product capabilities. So that we can cultivate the trust of his product decision. Otherwise, we will lose the right to trust and product, and we need this unwritten mechanism to gain a sharp point of view and the wisdom of the conclusion.
