Using FREERDP to connect Windows Remote Desktop under Linux

Brief introduction

FREERDP is an open source Remote Desktop system that supports a variety of platforms, and the use of FREERDP in Ubuntu makes it easy to log in to Windwos Remote Desktop.

Installation

sudo apt-get install freerdp

Use

xfreerdp -f host:port -u username -p password

Parameters:

• -F: Indicates full screen (the shortcut key to toggle fullscreen is: Ctrl + Alt + Enter)

• Host: Remote server address

• PORT: The default is 3389

• -u username: User Name

• -p Password: password

For example:

xfreerdp -f 192.168.1.10 -u administrator -p 123456

Indicates Remote Desktop to 192.168.1.10

Common plugins

FREERDP provides a lot of plugins

Here are some of the plugins I used more often:

Cliprdr (open paste function)

--plugin cliprdr

For example:

--plugin cliprdr 192.168.1.10 -u administrator -p 123456

RDPDR (Turn on local folder mapping to remote server disk feature)

--plugin rdpdr --data disk:<Name>:<Path> --

For example, use local/home/username/share as a shared folder:

--plugin rdpdr --data disk:username:~/share -- 192.168.1.10 -u administrator -p 123456
