As we all know, NetMeeting can send a teacher's head and voice to a student, but can not carry on one side of the sound, video broadcast, other students only through the text and whiteboard drawing and communication with teachers. Now, as long as you have Exchange
Conferencing Server servers and NetMeeting terminals can complement each other, and realize simple, inexpensive and practical multimedia network teaching.
Configuring the server
1. Install Windows Server
You must use the Windows Standard server operating system on the server, either to install an enhanced server version or to add Server Pack 1 to the normal servers version. The WWW service must be started and the Active Directory activity directory must be set up. If active Directory is not activated, the installation of some of the following important components is not possible.
2. Install Microsoft Exchange 2000
Exchange 2000 is a communications and collaboration platform that provides a unified messaging platform for application services such as instant messaging, real-time data, and video conferencing. Here, you can install only the messaging and collaboration services and system Management tools, which do not have to be installed.
3, installation, configuration conferencing Server
Conferencing Server is a conferencing service software that runs on the Exchange platform, and is installed with a "Complete" full installation. Then, specify a group (group) and a management site (management point), and use the default entry. After installation, start the management console from the midpoint "conferencing Mangager" in the Micro Exchange program group.
Click Properties from the right-click pop-up menu on the default I site item to set up the calendar mailbox and meeting resource resources. Note: When you configure meeting resources, you need to add both the data data provider and the video videos provider as resources. Operation Steps
1, the teacher on the machine configuration Outlook 2000
The teacher arranges meetings and lectures on a LAN terminal (teacher's machine) equipped with a camera and microphone. Scheduling and convening of meetings must take advantage of the scheduling features in Outlook. The first time you run Outlook, you will receive the Setup Wizard window, select for enterprise workgroup, use the Exchange Server service, fill in the server's computer name "65yzfwq" in the Exchange server name, and the mailbox must be filled in "Administrator , enter the appropriate password (as shown in Figure 2).
If you do not need to set up the wizard, you can also manipulate the configuration file through the mail item in Control Panel.

Then save the registry file with the suffix named. Reg, double-click and run it.
Run Outlook, the Login window appears, enter administator username and password, and fill in "65yzfwq" in the domain name item. After entering the login through the Options menu, click Resource Plan in the Calendar Options tab and select Auto Accept meeting request.
Each time you schedule a meeting, click on the "Calendar" tab and click "New Meeting Request" from the "Action" menu. After the dialog window appears, click on the [To] button, select the administrator in the list and the e-mail address of the other attendees in the host, select the resource name previously set on the server side of the resource, and determine the meeting theme. Select "This is an online meeting" and select "Exchange conference" in the Drop-down menu, and the location item is automatically filled in. Select Allow external attendees to participate, set the start of the meeting, end time, and, depending on your preferences, choose whether to set reminders and reminder intervals.
When you finally send a meeting invitation, Outlook will automatically schedule the meeting on the server, and the instructor's Outlook Inbox will receive an invitation immediately, and the meeting link provided in the letter is not needed until the meeting is near.
2, teachers and students on the machine configuration NetMeeting
Each terminal Setup method is roughly the same, only the teacher machine equipped with the camera needs to set up the video parameters of NetMeeting. Do not select Log on to directory Server on the Options menu and select "Send video Automatically" and "Receive video automatically".
3. Meetings or lectures
If you have set up a reminder earlier, a reminder window will appear on the screen before you close to the meeting. There are three ways for teachers and students to attend meetings: Click the [Join Meeting] button in the Reminder window, or click the link in the meeting invitation to open the Meeting page, or to open the Conference Web site by clicking on the links in the http://x/conferencing/. List.asp into the meeting (X is the IP address or computer name of the Exchange server).
At the first meeting of each terminal, IE asks "Do you want to download conferencing Client Access?" , click "Yes" to start the NetMeeting server automatically. After all the students have joined the meeting, the teacher can use the "shared program" function in NetMeeting, real-time to the computer operation of multimedia courseware to each student, the students will also receive the teacher's image and voice from NetMeeting, and can be discussed with each other.
In the network environment of 10M LAN, the results of the experiment are: video fluency, clear voice, good synchronization, no delay, overcome the original NetMeeting can not do a little bit of the lack of multicast.
