Visual leak detector is one of the most common C + + memory leak checking tools used in the past (visual Studio 2008 ERA). This tool is still available in Visual Studio 2010, but there are two points to note: Versioning issues setting changes

Version Issue:

The latest version available on codeproject.com is still 1.9d, but note that this version behaves very poorly under visual Studio 2010. A lot of people on the Internet have noticed this, and a lot of people recommend 1.0 because the 1.0 version works fine under Visual Studio 2010. However, there is no real need to do this because version 1.0 does not have the convenience of a successor, and in fact the visual leak detector has been updated to version 2.2, and version 2.2 fixes many bugs and works well under visual Studio 2010.

CodePlex.com has the latest version 2.2 of visual leak detector. Link: http://vld.codeplex.com/

Set Changes :

We are familiar with the VC + + directories settings, now a change of position.

New setup methods see the previous blog, "Visual Studio 2010, VC + + directories settings."

To set up a procedure:

1. View | Other Window | Property Manager

2. Go to "VC + + Directories" settings

3. Set Include folder path

4. Set Lib Folder path

Click OK, we'll set it up.

Inspection:

As shown in the following illustration, we deliberately create a memory leak, then debug + run, which outputs a memory leak information in Visual Studio 2010 's Output window after the program has been completed:
