Using group policies to slim down Win7 from three aspects (1)

From the Windows XP era, we know that using the Group Policy function can optimize the system, including making the system safer and more efficient. Similarly, Windows 7 (Win7) has been inherited. This article will explain how to use the group strategy to slim down Win7 from three aspects to make it more efficient.
Note: The group policy function is only available in Win7 Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition, and Enterprise Edition.

I. simplified system functions

Win7 is very powerful and considerate. It comes with many practical functions, such as system restoration and burning functions. The former can quickly restore the system to the status before "an accident, the latter can easily burn the disc. However, due to different computer configurations and different user needs, sometimes some built-in functions need to be disabled to make the computer run faster!

Disabling built-in burning makes operations more appropriate

Win7 has integrated the burning function, which is not weak yet and easy to operate. However, this function is not perfect, as long as you connect to the recorder, Windows resource manager will be on standby, which will undoubtedly affect the system performance and the execution speed of the resource manager. In addition, because it is not a professional recording software, the functions and flexibility are naturally limited. Therefore, users with high requirements on burning can consider disabling it.

Expand "user configuration> management template> Windows Components> Windows Resource Manager", go to "delete CD burning function", and enable this policy (1 ).

Tip: If this setting is enabled, all functions in Windows resource manager that allow the use of the burner will be invalid. Of course, this setting will not prevent users from using the burner to burn the disc with a third-party application.

Disable system restoration to save system resources

Although the system restoration function of Win7 is very powerful, you can easily restore the status before "An Accident" by clicking the mouse. However, System Restoration takes up disk space, especially the longer it takes, the more space it takes. Therefore, you can disable this function for computers with low configurations.

Expand "Computer Configuration> management template> system> System Restore", go to "Disable System Restore", and enable this policy. In addition, you can also disable system restoration in the control panel.

Note that if your configuration is high, do not disable the restoration function. If the configuration is low, especially the hard disk space is limited, you should disable the function after restoring the system or performing a backup.

Ii. Remove annoying tips

When using a computer, you will always encounter some error messages or inexplicable prompts. For example, when the system is shut down, the system prompts that the update is in progress, but the user needs to leave immediately. During the operation, A prompt window such as "Send Error Report" is displayed. Screen Saver is displayed when you watch the video! In this case, let the Group Policy help to clear all these annoying tips!

Do not hesitate to update next installation after Shutdown

Once the user starts automatic update, the system will install the update before shutting down each time. If you like manual update, you can cancel this setting.

Expand "Computer Configuration> Management Module> Windows Components> Windows Update", enter the "Do Not Display installation Update and shutdown in the" close Windows "dialog box", and enable this policy (2 ).

Tip: If you enable this policy, the "Install update and shut down" option will not appear even if you select the "shutdown" option in the Start Menu. After the policy is enabled, the downloaded system update files are not automatically deleted or lost, and the downloaded files are stored in the system directory, you can install updates at any time in the future, which is more reasonable.

The error is not reported.

When the computer is busy, a "Send Error Report" window pops up, and you have to click it to continue the operation. There are a lot of prompts like this. If you always need to click here, this is troublesome. We recommend that you disable it for convenience.

Expand "Computer Configuration> management template> system> Internet Communication Management> Internet Communication Settings", go to "Disable Windows Error Report", and enable this policy.

Watch movies on screen saver

Many of my friends are used to watching movies using the Windows Media Player System. The problem is that by default, screen saver may be used to play movies! Although screensaver can be disabled in the Windows Media Player option menu, you can use group policy settings to completely disable it!

Expand "user configuration> management template> Windows Components> Windows Media Player> play", go to "allow screen saver running", and disable this policy. After it is disabled, go to "Options> player Settings", and "enable screen saver running during playback" (as shown in 3). This indicates that it has been disabled and you want to set it again, no!

Tip: If this policy is disabled, screen saver does not
