What is Network wakeup
Network wake to achieve centralized management of the network, that is, at any time, network management center IT managers can remotely awaken a computer in hibernation or shutdown state. With this capability, IT managers can complete all operating system and application upgrades and other management tasks after work, with minimal network traffic and the least impact of the enterprise's normal operation.
In order to wake up a computer on the network, the user must issue a packet that is different in format from the regular packet and must be created with the appropriate proprietary software. Magic Packet, produced by AMD, is currently widely used to generate the special data packets needed for network wake-up. The packet contains 6 consecutive bytes of "FF" and a continuous repeat of the MAC address 16 times. Although Magic Packet is only a technology developed by AMD and is not recognized by the industry, it is still supported by many network card manufacturers, so many networks with wake-up functions can be compatible.
To use network wakeup, you must have:
1: Can send Network "wake frame" software to the NIC.
2: Can decode the "wake frame" of the network card, the network card must also be able to obtain energy from the auxiliary power, and can send "wake-up signal" to the motherboard. (Basically all supported)
First, the awakened machine how to set up
1.win7 system under the following diagram, computer-"Device Manager-" network card driver properties
2.ipconfig–all command to view the MAC address of the local network card
The network packet sent is shown in the following figure, where the MAC address is a random fill of duplicate 09.
