In 3DS Max, the important way to create non-standard three-dimensional modeling is to create two-dimensional graphics and then use two-dimensional modeling to get three-dimensional modeling through lathe, Extrude and loft, so it is very important for a three-dimensional designer to create two-dimensional shapes skillfully. Although a rich two-dimensional styling command is provided in 3DS Max, it is still time-consuming and laborious to design an irregular two-dimensional shape with a pure 3DS max. However, 3DS Max provides support for non-3DS max standard files, such as support for the input and output of AI files, the AI file is generated by Adobe Illustrator Software, is a vector graphics file, Photoshop provides output support for it, just for me. below to create a
A three-dimensional sign is an example to illustrate:
Create AI files
1. Create two-dimensional graphics in Photoshop as shown in Figure 1 (simple method is hand-drawn and scan input);

2, using the selection tool to select a small piece of black area, and then use the selection of similar commands to select the entire black region;
3, the use of Path (path) Control Panel, to establish a working path;
4, the use of file output, select the output path to illustrator, the establishment of AI files.
Building three-dimensional modeling
Save the AI file, you can use this file in 3DS Max to build three-dimensional modeling, the steps are:
1, in 3DS Max using File→import command to enter the AI file just established;
2, select Modifiers→mesh editing→extrude command, fill in the appropriate amount value. Using the rotating tool, the resulting three-dimensional modeling rotates 90° along the x axis in the perspective chart;

3, into the material editor, given the appropriate material, rendering as shown in Figure 2 three-dimensional modeling.
If you want to give different parts of the three-dimensional modeling to different materials, you can input (import) AI files in the parameters panel select multiple OBJECTS,3DS max can convert each polygon in the AI file into a separate Bézier curve, after stretching (Extrude) , that is, to become three independent three-dimensional modeling, can be given different materials.
