The first thing we need to know is the amount of data in the current partition of the failed hard drive, which is the amount of overwrite damage. In Disk Management, on each drive character--click-Right--property, which is the property of the client hard disk's current first partition H drive. There is not much space left, but the customer declares that the area is an operating system partition and the data is not here. So let's get a general look.

Customer hard disk Current second partition I disk properties, this partition occupies 4.86G, which means that the original data may have about 4.86G coverage damage, is not covered in the original important data location to see luck, restore the partition can be specifically analyzed.

Customer Hard disk 3rd, 4 partitions k disk and L disk used space are basically empty, these locations of data recovery will be very good.

What the customer needs is to repartition the previous data of the format installation system and ask to recover as much as possible as he does not remember where the original data was placed, so you need to click on select Scan to recover the entire hard drive instead of the partition. Select the hard drive or partition you want to recover, and click the R-studio Start scan icon. You can confirm it correctly based on the hard drive model, volume label, file system, start location, and partition size.

Click Start Scan, r-studio pop-up scan settings window, generally with the default options, you can also remove our unwanted file system, can speed up the analysis. We're going to scan the entire hard drive, so start at 0 and the length is 149.1G.

You can also streamline the file system that R-studio to analyze, and the Windows operating system may only be in fat and NTFS format.

R-studio scanning speed is very fast. The entire hard drive is scanned in half, where you can see the data distribution, partition status, and scan progress, and the 160G HDD takes about 1 hours.

After the scan is over, it is a good practice to save R-studio scan information, which can be opened in the future without any further scanning.

Choose a save location, note! Do not select the partition on the hard disk that you want to recover data from!!

This is the R-studio scan to the partition structure, partition size, start location, file system and other information are listed. Depending on the completeness of each partition, R-studio displays different recommended levels separately, in green, orange, and red, and in turn recommends levels differently.

The following focus is on how to exclude and pick a partition that might be recovering data.

We first ruled out those same as the current structure of the scan results, after the exclusion, we analyzed the remaining partition structure, from the highest recommended level of green items, you can see from the 48.8G, the end of the complete 4 high-quality scanning partitions, respectively, 48.8+29.3=78.1, 78.1+29.3= 107.4, 107.4+20.5=127.9, 128+21.1=149.1, until the rear of the hard drive. This makes it perfectly possible to verify that the failed hard drive was not partitioned before the system was formatted to install the structure, i.e. the last 4 partitions of the hard disk.

After determining the 4 partition structures, the remaining work is to find a few partitions before the 48.8G space.

The orange section has a scratch-out, 19.5G size, and a different NTFS structure than the current FAT32 format, which is estimated to be the first partition. Here are two of the two recommended items with a starting position of around 19.5G and a length of 28.8G. The two start positions are close to the same length, and the 19.5g+28.8g=48.3 results are close to 48.8G.

At this point, we can basically think of the original structure of 6 zones, 19.5G, 28.8G, 29.3G, 29.3G, 20.5G, 21.1G arrangement structure. Below, separate into the partition to see the verification.
