Various iOS devices (iPhone, itouch, and iPad) use their own VPN servers to access the Internet and leave the proxy alone.
Device used for testing: Windows XP Computer + iPad
Available places: for example, in the school living area, connect to the VPN Server set up by yourself in the teaching area to access the Internet (of course, if you have the permission to involve these machines, you should not bother with your schoolmates ).
Advantages compared with proxies: proxy settings on IOS are only available for Safari and a few apps in App Store, while QQ, PPLIVE, applications such as Xunlei will ignore the proxy settings in the WiFi property, and these applications will not be able to access the Internet. In the case of VPN, all applications on IOS can use this setting for network connection.
Start:
Step 1:
Set up a VPN Server on Windows. Take Windows XP as an example (for other operating systems, Google Baidu ):
Similar to setting up a VPN Server on Windows Server 2003, the XP system establishes an incoming connection, that is, a dedicated connection to the system is established through the Internet or other networks in the form of "tunnel operations.
Method 1: directly start the Routing and Remote Access Service (enter services. MSC in the running state, find this service, set it to automatic, and enable it ). An incoming connection will appear in the network connection. You can view its attributes to set the connection.
Method 1: Start with "Create a new connection", select "set advanced connection"-"accept incoming connections"-"unplug connected devices" (next step) -"allow Virtual Private connection"-"select the user who wants to establish a VPN connection-" complete some settings on IP address!
The result of method 1 configuration is as follows:
Modify the attributes as follows:
Add a user to an iOS device.
Modify the IP address as follows. Try not to be in the same network segment as your current network. If you are in the same network segment, you cannot access the Internet on iOS devices.
Step 2:
If the configured VPN Server is under the route, you need to set routing forwarding rules, that is, the router Management page-forwarding rules-virtual server, because the default VPN in the window is PPTP, and the port is 1723, add the entry to the next entry.
(It is said that if the VPN Server is set to a DMZ host, there will be a VPN conflict and no research has been made. The virtual server is used for the moment)
Step 3:
The setting of VPN on iOS devices is troublesome. Use text.
Go to Settings> General> network> VPN> Add VPN configuration and select PPTP.
Description: enter a name;
Server: Enter the IP address of the VPN Server. If the VPN Server is under the route, enter the external IP address of the router (because the virtual server has been set before );
Account: Fill in the Account previously set on the server;
RSA SecurID: disabled;
Password: enter the password previously set on the server;
Encryption Level: automatic; (other methods cannot be used, the reason is to be verified)
Send all traffic: close; (the setting cannot be opened, and the reason is to be verified)
After the settings are complete, just dial the VPN switch. If the connection is connected, the VPN symbol will be displayed on the status bar, and the user name displayed on the iPad connection will also appear in the network connection on the computer. Then, try the application, if everything is OK, you will be able to access the Internet.
Summary:
1. In addition to iOS devices, other computers and mobile devices can all access the Internet through VPN dial-up connections.
2. It is said that the VPN Server that comes with Windows seems to be able to connect only one device (unless it is a Windows server operating system). It has not tried multiple devices and is to be verified.
3. Thank you for providing the VPN function for IOS.
