IsNumeric function

Returns a Boolean value that indicates whether the expression's value is a number.

IsNumeric(expression)

The expression parameter can be any expression.

Description

If the entire expression is recognized as a number, theisnumeric function returns True; otherwise, the function returns False. If expression is a date expression, theisnumeric function returns False.

The following example uses the isnumeric function to determine whether a variable can be a numeric value:

Dim MyVar, MyCheckMyVar = 53                    'Assigned value. IsNumeric(MyVar) ' return  True . MyVar = "459.95"              assigned value. IsNumeric(MyVar) ' return True . MyVar = "45 Help"             assigned value. IsNumeric(MyVar) ' return  False .
