GetDriveName method

Returns a string containing the drive name in the specified path.

object.GetDriveName(path)

Parameters

Object

Required option. The name that should be FileSystemObject.

Path

Required option. Specifies the path in which to return the drive name of its component.

Description

If the drive cannot be determined, the GetDriveName method returns a 0 length string ("").

The following examples illustrate how to use the getdrivename method:

Attention The getdrivename method can only work on strings that provide path . It cannot attempt to parse a path, nor can it check whether the specified path exists.
