VCenter 6.5u1 Windows SQL Server 2012 Installation

One prepare before installation, install database

1, check the host name and operating system version, configure IP information, join the domain.

2. Vmadmin the domain user and join the local Administrators group.

3. Configure Local Security Policy

4. Select Computer Configuration > Local Policies > User Rights Assignment, add the Vmadmin user to 4 Group policies, log on as a batch job, log on as a service, allow log on locally, and allow logon through Remote Desktop services.

5. Install. net3.5, insert the Windows R2 installation disc, open the disc image, select the path D:\sources\sxs directory, the path specific to the DVD drive is whichever.

6. Open Server Manager and click Add Roles and Features.

7, before the Start screen, tick skip this page by default, click Next.

8. Select the role-based or basic feature installation, and click Next.

9. Select the target server and click Next.

10, the server role interface does not need to tick, leave the default, click Next.

11. Select the function interface, select the. NET frarmework 3.5 feature, and click Next.

12. In the Confirm Install selection interface, click Specify alternate source path.

13. Enter the path where the disc is located, click OK.

14. Click Install to start the installation of. NET Frarmework 3.5.

15. When the installation is complete, click Close.

Second, the installation of independent ms-sql2012 database
1. Insert the SQL Server installation CD, double-click Setup, click on the new SQL Server standalone installation or add features to the existing installation option.

2. Setup support rules, click OK.

3. Enter the product key and click Next.

4. Accept the license terms and click Next.

5. Skip product Updates and click Next.

6. The installation program supports the rule check pass, click Next.

7. Set the role, select the SQL Server feature installation, and click Next.

8, feature selection, tick database engine services, SQL Server replication, client connection tools, management tools-BASIC, Administrative Tools-complete, click Next.

9. Check the installation rules and click Next.

10. Select the default instance for the instance configuration, and click Next.

11, disk space requirements, leave the default, click Next.

12, server configuration, leave the default, click Next.

13. Database engine configuration, select Mixed Mode authentication and Windows authentication, specify SQL Server administrator, click Next.

14. Error reporting, click Next.

15, installation configuration rules check Pass, single room next.

16, prepare the installation interface, click Install, start the installation of SQL Server.

17. SQL Server installation is complete, click Close.

Iii. Creating the Vcenter Database
1. Log in to SQL Server and log in to the database using Windows authentication by clicking on the link.

2. Right-click Database > New Database.

3. Enter the database name vcenter_db, and click OK.

4. The database was created successfully.

Iv. adding ODBC
1, in the Server Manager, the upper right corner of the tool, select the ODBC Data source management program 64-bit, click on the System DSN to add.

2. Select SQL Server Native Client 11.0 and click Finish.

3. Create a new data source for SQL Server, enter a name and a database address, and click Next.

4. Enter the user name and password of SQL Server to verify the database and click Next.

5. Change the default database to vcenter_db, and click Next.

6. Click Finish.

7. Test the data source connection and click OK.

8. Add complete, click OK.
