Vendors integrate SCA and SDO specifications to enhance SOA technical cooperation

 
To better promote the development of SOA, BEA and other leading technical vendors that are working together to create service component architecture (SCA) and service data object (SDO) specifications have released several important achievements, this includes significant developments in SOA-related specifications and technologies. The partner Manufacturers Alliance has also created a website (www.OSOA.org) independent of the vendor to provide relevant information, including draft specifications and White Papers. It provides an in-depth discussion and brainstorming forum for the industry.
As early as November 2005, to simplify SOA applications, companies such as BEA, IBM, IONA, Oracle, sap ag, Sybase, Xcalia, and Zend jointly released new industry specifications. Since then, many companies have joined this cooperation camp, including Cape Clear, Interface21, Primeton Technologies, and Progress Software (formerly Sonic Software) red Hat, Rogue Wave Software, Software AG, Sun Microsystems, and TIBCO Software Co. The 17 companies cover SOA and application vendors as well as infrastructure and open source providers. Their cooperation has boosted the development of SCA and SDO technologies, including the formulation of new and revised draft specifications. The SCA specification aims to simplify the construction and assembly of business services, and the SDO specification aims to access different data source types in a unified manner.
According to Gartner's "SCA: finding the winner of a general SOA annotation" report published in March 2006, Gartner's vice president Jess Thompson pointed out: "One of the most important aspects of SCA, is to establish a basis for standardized annotations, so that the standards can be standardized to express the service-oriented architecture (SOA )."
After efforts, the cooperation alliance has achieved a series of new developments, such as preparing a brand new draft SCA specification for declaring a policy framework; improved the connection description for JMS, JCA, and Web service binding, and the creation of new models for BPEL and PHP. In addition, there are draft specifications for service combinations, Java and C ++ service creation, and SDO specifications updated.
SCA and SDO specifications help enterprises create IT assets more easily and transform existing IT assets, making IT assets a reusable service that can be quickly assembled to meet changing business needs. These specifications provide unified services for any programming language and deployment platform, greatly reducing the complexity related to application development.
