Color is the most important factor in the image, a beautifully designed image playing moving depends on its visual effects, so color selection and collocation is very important. Fireworks MX 2004 provides a powerful color feature, we can not only choose a variety of ways to use color to the object use a variety of color effects, but also through the color palette to manage color, so as to facilitate our image design.

By understanding the way colors are used in fireworks MX 2004, the color palette, and the management of colors, we can extrapolate a general understanding of the common color usage and techniques in the design software.
You can click on the Fireworks Interface "window" menu "Mixer" (color mixer) or "swatches" (color swatch), we can open the fireworks colors (color) panel. We found that the color mixer and color swatch are grouped by default on the fireworks color panel. The features on the Color mixer panel are shown in Figure 13.

Clicking on the button in the upper-right corner will jump out of the pop-up menu shown in Figure 14, with the fireworks MX 2004 color mode option on top of the menu. The lower part of the pop-up menu is about the panel's actions, including the regroup Panel, rename the Panel, and so on.

Select the Swatches option bar on the color panel, and then open the color Swatch panel as shown in Figure 15. In the color Swatch panel, we can manage the colors in fireworks MX 2004.

  Color Management

After opening the color Swatch panel, we can manage and manipulate the color of fireworks, we can add, replace, delete, erase and so on to customize our color samples so as to facilitate our operation.

  1, add color

To add color to the color swatch can be done through the eyedropper tool on the toolbox or in the color well in the filter tool, see the specific steps below.
(1) Use the eyedropper tool or color picker to extract the desired color from the image.
(2) Click "Window" >> "swatches" to open the color Swatch panel, move the mouse to the end of the color Swatch block, when the mouse changes to the paint barrel shape.
(3) Click the mouse to add the color to the color swatch, as shown in Figure 16.

  2. Replace color

If there are some colors in the color swatch that we don't need, then we can use the new color swatch to replace these unwanted colors, as follows:
(1) Use the eyedropper tool or color picker to extract the desired color from the image.
(2) Click "Window" >> "swatches" to open the color Swatch panel, hold down the SHIFT key to move the mouse to the color you want to replace, when the mouse changes to the paint bucket shape.
(3) Click the color swatch block you want to replace, and the new color swatch replaces the old color swatch, as shown in Figure 17.

  3, remove the color

If we no longer need some of the colors in the color swatch, you can use the following methods to remove these colors:
(1) Open the color Swatch panel. Then hold down the CTRL key and move the mouse to the color Swatch panel, where the mouse turns into a scissor shape, as shown in Figure 18.
(2) with the mouse click the color swatch block you want to remove to remove the color swatch.

  4, clear color

Click on the button in the upper right corner of the color Swatch panel and select Clear Swatches in the pop-up menu, as shown in Figure 19, we can quickly clear all the color samples.

  5. Preserve color

After we have customized our own color swatch, if we want to continue to use these color samples in the future, we need to save these samples. At this point we just need to select "Save Swatches" (save sample) in the pop-up menu shown in Figure 19, then select a path and name the color table file, where the color table file extension is. act. Finally, click Save to save our own color table file.

 6, sorting color

After long use of fireworks, we continue to add, delete and replace color samples according to our own preferences. A long time, color swatch panel color arrangement will be more confusing, so we need to sort these color samples. Sorting a color swatch is simply a matter of selecting "Sort by Color" (sorted by colour) in the pop-up menu shown in Figure 19, and we can sort the existing samples by color, as shown in Figure 20.

  7, Import color

We can also extract colors from fireworks by importing a color file or GIF file with an external extension of. Act. Open the menu shown in Figure 19 and choose Replace swatches (replace sample) and the Open dialog box appears, where you can select a color table file. Here we choose to import a GIF file color, at this point only need to open the dialog box to select the GIF file, as shown in Figure 21.

Then click on the "open" button so that we can import the color swatch we need, and the color Swatch panel shows the color combinations in the GIF file we imported, as shown in Figure 22.

When we import a color swatch, the color swatch we are using is not present. But sometimes we do not just need to use an externally imported color swatch combination, but we also want to keep the color swatch combinations that are currently in use, so what do we do now? In fact, this is very simple, we only need to select "Add Swatches" (add sample) in the pop-up menu shown in Figure 19, then the "Open" dialog box as shown in Figure 21, we select a color table file or GIF file, and then click the "Open" button, So we need the color swatch is loaded into the current color swatch combination, at this time not only the original color samples still exist, the external file color combinations are also added to the current color samples, the following figure 23 is shown in the "Cube Colors" (color cubes) A new color swatch combination is imported from the color of the GIF file.

  8. Choose Preset Colors

In fact, most of the cases we just need to use fireworks preset sample combinations. In Fireworks MX 2004, five commonly used sample combinations are preset, color Cubes (color cubes), continuous Tone (continuous tones), Windows OS (Windows system colors), MAC OS (Mac system color) and grayscale (grayscale). In the pop-up menu shown in Figure 19, we can choose any of these five preset color combinations to help us quickly pick colors.
