Many systems developed with ASP can also support MS SQL databases. But a lot of netizens don't know how to convert the original Access database into MS SQL database. According to the author's experience of converting MAXZ's film system, I hereby announce the conversion method and let everyone share it.
First, the basic premise
1, you use the virtual host to support Ms SQL. You must first learn from the virtual host provider whether the virtual host you purchased supports Ms SQL. Host providers typically tell you about MS SQL information, such as the following, after you have purchased a virtual host:
Host ip:218.5.xx.xxx of the database
Database name: XXXXXX
User name of database: XXXXXX
Password for database: XXXXX
Database Space Size: XX
If your virtual host supports Ms SQL, but you do not know the above information, ask your host provider first.
2, you have to install your own computer SQL Enterprise Manager ( please click to download the practical installation of green software );
3, the Internet conditions (of course, needless to say).
Second, set the article
Before you begin the conversion, you need to prepare for the following:
1. Download the latest Access database you will be converting from the server. In the Maxz movie system, if you do not rename the database, the database is datas.asp in the INC directory. After downloading to the local computer, please right-click on the datas.asp filename and "rename" for Datas.mdb. This way, the original Access database that you want to convert is ready, remember where it is stored.
2, in your download and decompression of SQL Enterprise Manager--sqlgreemgmt folder, click the "SQL Green version Manager" → "GSqlAdmin.exe", SQL Manager, connect the local SQL Server. After startup, as shown in the figure:
3, then enter the key configuration program: In the "SQL Green Version Manager" Window menu bar click on "Tools" in the window appears in the "Enterprise Manager" right click, appear "Registration-Enterprise Manager", click "Register – Enterprise Manager":
The DOS window appears as shown in the picture:
When the DOS window disappears automatically, double-click Enterprise Manager to start SQL SERVER ENTERPRISE Manager:
4. Right-click the SQL Server group shown in the image above, click "New SQL Server Registration ..." and click "Next" in the window that appears:
Enter your MS SQL database host IP address or name (as described in the first part of the basic premises) in the space under Available servers in the newly appearing window. After filling in the IP address, click "Add" below to add the IP address to the server. Then click Next on the bottom:
5, as shown in the following figure, select the SQL Server Authentication entry, and then click Next:
6, in the new window to fill in your MS SQL database username and the password of the database:
7, in the window that appears directly click "Next":
8, in the "Complete Registration" window click "Finish":
9, if none of the above operation is wrong, after a while, there will be a successful Server registration window. At this point, the configuration is complete and you can enter the conversion phase.
Third, conversion chapter
Once the configuration is successful, return to SQL Server ENTERPRISE MANAGER and your MS SQL database name (IP address or database name) appears under the SQL Server group. Click the database name under the SQL Server group, and in the top tool, under Tools, import data in Data Transformation Services, click Next.
In the window that appears, select Microsoft ACCESS as shown in the diagram and click Next. Well, congratulations, the conversion will be successful!
