Before the VM ownership problem occurs, VMware was able to start normally and shut down normally the previous time. However, the linux VM is not displayed when it is started. When the VM file is opened, the following prompt is displayed: this virtual machine seems to be in use. If the virtual machine is in use, click "cancel" to avoid damaging it. If this virtual machine is not used, click "get ownership (& T)" to obtain its ownership.
Configuration File: D: \ RedHatEnterpriseLinux5 \ Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. vmx click to get ownership, and an error is returned: www.2cto.com failed to get ownership of the virtual machine. The VM is being used by a program on your host. Configuration File: D: \ RedHatEnterpriseLinux5 \ Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.vmx. I found the file under resource monitor, but I didn't find any process or service using it.
Solution: Find the folder installed on this VM. Under this folder, rename all the folders whose names end with ". lck", and rename the names at will. Then start your VM in VMWARE. You may be prompted that you cannot find the VM directory. In this case, shut down the VM, change all the file names that have been modified back, and then start the VM. If you don't prompt anything, that would be the best thing.
