Virtual machine under Ubuntu sharing way online:

I. Wired network

Under the condition of wired network, the installation of VMware is very simple, the Internet method is almost not used how to set (default NAT mode) if the Internet is not available by default, follow these steps:

DHCP configuration for NAT:

1 Select NAT for the virtual machine's Internet access.

2 Set your virtual network card VMnet8 to get IP automatically, get DNS server automatically, enable.

How to do this: network connection, local Area connection (VMNET8), Properties->ipv4, Properties---select "Get IP automatically, get DNS server automatically".

3 "Local Connection" of the operating system (REDHAT9.0) in your virtual machine is also set to obtain IP automatically and obtain DNS server automatically;

If the operating system in the virtual machine is Ubuntu, you can view the IP shown in the "DHCP", "NAT" tab of the virtual network settings,

Gateway address, sub-mask and so on, if there is no need to change.

4 The most important thing is that your two services must be turned on: VMware DHCP Service and VMware NAT service.

Click "Edit" in the menu bar and select "Virtual network Settings" to remove the "automatic bridging" (remove the hook),

Then select "DHCP" To turn on the DHCP service, click "Start", and then use the same method to turn on the "NAT" function.

The verification method is as follows: Start-up settings, Control Panel, management tools, services (enter services.msc in the run),

Ensure that the VMware DHCP service and VMware NAT Service services are started.

Fixed IP configuration for NAT: (Given that there is no fixed IP, the communication between the host and the virtual machine is cumbersome, sometimes DHCP is time consuming)

1 Open Two services: VMware NAT service,vmware DHCP Service (the latter does not open)

2 Select NAT for the virtual machine's Internet access.

3 Click "Edit" in the menu bar and select "Virtual network Settings" to remove the "automatic bridging" (remove the hook),

Under DHCP, turn off the DHCP service, and on the right of VMnet8 under Host Virtual network mapping, select subnet to modify the subnet.

Manual Setup Method:

1.windows ctrl+r, input cmd, and then enter Ipconfig under DOS, get VMNET8 network card IP is 192.168.93.1 (different machine)

The network IP is set to 192.168.93.X (128-254) in 2.Ubuntu, and the 128,dns is usually set to 192.168 when automatically assigned. 93.2.

Two. Wireless network

Different from the wired network, with the laptop wireless internet, the problem comes out, the host for wireless Internet access, virtual machine how to set it?

In the host for wireless Internet access, virtual machine set up when the best use of "bridge mode" (some data said with Nat mode, I tried for a long time, did not succeed), the method is as follows:

1. Close the virtual machine that is running Ubuntu and set its networking mode to "bridged."

2. In the Vmare menu edit find VMware Virtual Network editor, if the green version, directly find Vmnetcfg.exe, double-click on it.

3. Locate the Host Virtual network mapping option (host Vsan Mapping), and on the Vmnet0 drop-down list, locate your laptop's wireless network card. 4. Start the Ubuntu virtual machine.

Note: In this case, the DHCP and NAT service states are not affected either on or off.
