Virtual Machine Network Mode

Note: Disable the firewall and 360 security guard. If the NAT mode is used, host machine-management tools-service. The VMware NAT service must be enabled. If dhcp is used, the dhcp service must also be enabled, otherwise the ping will fail.

I. Virtual Machine NAT mode:

1. Virtual Machine Settings -- select VMnet8 (Note: After the NIC of the host machine is disabled, the system in the virtual machine cannot ping the router address, and the host machine cannot ping other computers on the LAN)
2. Select "VMnet8 NAT" in the Virtual Machine editing virtual network. Click "NAT Settings" and check the "Connect Host virtual adapter to this network" check box. You can select "DHCP" to assign the IP address of the Virtual Machine Nic, you can also choose not to manually allocate.
3. Select Automatic Retrieval from the local VM Nic VMnet8, or manually enter the IP address and subnet mask. The IP address is the same as the network segment in the editing network.
4. System Nic configuration for virtual machines: automatically obtain the NIC configuration, or manually enter the IP address in the same network segment without conflict. The subnet mask is default, and the gateway is the gateway of the virtual machine, enter the Virtual Machine gateway address or the DNS address of the host.

Ii. Virtual Machine Bridging Mode: (Note: After the NIC of the host machine is disabled, the system in the virtual machine cannot ping the router address, and the host machine cannot ping other computers on the LAN)
1. Select VMnet0 for the VM (this is the bridge mode, which means it is the same as the computer on the LAN)
2. Select VMnet0 as the Virtual Machine network editor and change it to bridge. Select auto.
3. the system in the virtual machine can be set to dhcp (dhcp is allocated by the host machine router), or static address. The IP address and the host machine have a network segment, the subnet mask, gateway, DNS, and host are also consistent.

Iii. VM host-only mode: (this mode indicates that the system in the VM is pinged to the host, but it is actually pinged to the VMnet1 Nic)
1. Select VMnet1 for VM settings (host-only mode)
2. Enable the VM Nic and select automatic retrieval or change it to static. You only need to enter the IP address and subnet mask. The network segment must be consistent with the system network segment in the VM.
3. In the virtual machine network Editor, select VMnet1 and select host-only. Check the "Connect host virtual adapter to this network" check box, if dhcp is used, check the "use local dhcp service to allocate Virtual Machine IP addresses" check box. Pay attention to the dhcp network segment.
4. The system in the virtual machine can be set to dhcp, or it can be changed to static without dhcp. It can be in the same CIDR block as vmnet1. no gateway or dns need to be set.
