VirtualBox on Ubuntu server virtual machine configuration dual NIC

VirtualBox on the Ubuntu server virtual machine needs to access both intranet and extranet, but the special reason can not use bridge mode, so you need to configure a dual network card for the virtual machine, one distribution extranet, another distribution intranet.

In the VirtualBox virtual machine settings, add two network cards, the first network card using NAT mode, the second network card using host-only mode.

Start the virtual machine, use Ifconfig to view the network configuration only see the first network card information eth0.
At this point, view the network profile/etc/network/interfaces, which reads as follows:

Auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
 
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet DHCP

Modify this file to add eth1 configuration information

Auto eth1
iface eth1 inet DHCP

Or

Auto eth1
iface eth1 inet static address

Restart the virtual machine and use Ifconfig to view the network situation.
