Rising global anti-virus monitoring network intercepts two Trojan viruses that steal the passwords of ADSL users and names them as the "ADSL thief Variant C/D (Trojan. PSW. ADSL. c/d)" virus. According to rising anti-virus experts, the two viruses are specially designed for Beijing ADSL users to impersonate the self-service web pages of the ADSL password of Beijing Network and Beijing Telecom respectively. When a user accesses the Internet, a false page is automatically displayed, which tricks the user into entering his/her own password and then saves it. This may cause the user's password to be leaked.
Rising anti-virus experts said that the virus currently intercepted only has the function of stealing passwords, and there is no module for virus transmission or sending password theft. This means that to implement the complete functions of the virus, multiple modules with different functions may be required to increase the difficulty of anti-virus software detection and removal, or hackers may attack some websites to spread the virus.
Rising experts reminded Beijing ADSL users that when accessing the Internet, if they did not click on the relevant websites of China Netcom or China Telecom, the computer automatically displays a webpage requesting to change the ADSL password, which may have been poisoned, it is best to ask professional vendors for help.
Experts said that precise theft targeting specific user groups in a region has become one of the new trends of Trojan viruses. Previously, rising has intercepted the password virus that specifically steals the phone card password of Anhui. Rising anti-virus experts analyzed that although the virus is currently only targeted at users in Beijing, there may be variants of the virus targeting ADSL users in other regions in the future.
