Click OK.
Click Finish to close the dialog box.
Solution:
Check where my document directory is, and change a directory that does exist (not in a mobile hard disk or another directory that does not exist ), you can install the virtual machine on the desktop-my documents-properties-target folder.
: This issue needs to be improved.

I am trying to install VMware and I get this message "error 1325-documents is not a valid short file name" in a VMware window when the installer is in the phase of allocating space. I have Net Framework 1.1 with SP1, I have tried to uninstall and reinstall office but still I get the same message. any ideas? |

I have no idea, but have you a Win XP/2000 System and don't have a "my clients" directory, or it's been slightly renamed or something. |

I 'd guess that something is up with your "events and settings" location, More likely, although what that is I have no idea. |

What is your user's % Temp % variable set? I 've seen goofy things with temp paths being too long... if you don't care about individual users 'temp folders being kept separate, then I 'd recommend the following... Right-click my computer, properties --> Advanced tab --> environment variables button. if in the top section (User variables) there are lines for temp and TMP, select and delete each of them. they shoshould already exist in the bottom section (system variables), and point to something like "C:/Windows/Temp ". make sure also to clean up the temp folder before trying to reinstall. I have found the solution. initially I had declared "My Documents ents" folder in an external USB hard drive under the folder "G:/Documents ents ". I removed the hard drive and I have reset the "my clients" folder to the initial value of C:/, nevertheless I discovered when I connected a card reader and gave it the letter G: /, by creating the folder "events" it installed correctly to the system. I wowould like to mention that I have reseted the "My items" folder, stored med multiple restarts and also I have used Microsoft's regclean.exe to clean up old values. |
