12.1.1 installation CENTOS7 based on VMware Workstation

• Needless to say, this article is simple brute force installation, Linux and VMware specifically do not introduce more, the focus is to teach you how to install.

STEP1:

• Download and install VMware Workstation.

Step2

• When the VM virtual machine is installed, open and click "Create a new virtual machine"

• To experience Linux, choose Typical; study, select Custom. Then click Next.

• Default, Next.

• Select "Install the operating system later" and click Next.

• Select "Linux" and "Centos64 bit" respectively. Click Next.

• The virtual machine name can be customized by name, and the location is selected by itself. Click Next.

• Because Linux does not require a high level of hardware, it is similar to running 98 or XP. Then choose the default 1 to do so. Next.

• Apart, allocate 1G of memory. Click Next.

• Network type selection, select "Network Address translation Nat". Next.

• Use the recommended "LSI Logic". Click Next.

• Use the recommended "SCSI (S)". Click Next.

• Select Create a new virtual disk. Click Next.

• Select the disk size, here I select "35G" (500m/boot, 20G/, 10g/home, 2g/swap). Select "Split disk into multiple files": The advantage is that it does not take up a 35G disk at a sudden, but rather the space that takes up the disk dynamically as you use it.

• Custom select disk File storage address. Next.

• Select "Custom Hardware" to make changes to the assigned hardware.

• Using the ISO image file, click Browse to open the image file for the previously downloaded CentOS7, and then close.

• Finally click Finish to appear the following screen, click on the virtual machine to open.

• When the installation is in progress .....

• Select the locale in which the installation process is used, we select "Simplified Chinese".

• Next is some configuration information, you must configure the corresponding item showing the alarm flag, in order to click to start the installation.

• Select "Software Selection", we select "Gnome Desktop" environment, additional options can be selected according to demand, the red box on the map is generally need to tick, non-box can be confident to choose to add; then click Done.

• Select "Install location" to configure the partition.

• Select "I want to configure the partition."

• Click the "+" sign to add the partition.

• Select input to partition the following parameters, respectively
• "/Boot 500MB"
• "/20480MB"
• "/Home 1024MB"

• "/swap 2048MB"

• After partitioning the partition, the "file system" format is changed to "Ext4", the swap partition default is swap, do not change.

• Click "Finish" in the top left corner

• Click "Accept Changes"

• Finally, the network settings, the NIC can be opened. This step can also not be set now, the system is installed into the desktop configuration network can be.

• Then you can "start the installation"

• Set "root password", similar to Superuser root privileges for Android phone. Password of course very important, their own set to remember;

• and "Create User" (for a regular user)

• Wait for the installation to complete, you can click "Restart"
