Vmware tools for file sharing between VM linux and Windows
There are many methods for implementing file sharing with windows in VM linux. Here I recommend two common methods: 1-vmware tools; 2-Samba. I don't know why. I like the former, but many people like samba. Every time I want to pass some large files to the VM through samba, the speed is slow. I don't know why. I guess it's not academic, but I hope my predecessors will advise me.
When installing linux on the VM, beginners will know that after the first installation is complete, once the mouse is in the VM, it will not be released. To release, press CTRL + ALL. It is a pain point. Let's talk about the vmware tools tool for file sharing between VM linux and Windows.
1. Click VM ---> Install vmware tools ---> to bring up a dialog box:
Copy vmwarw.ls-7.8.5-156735.tar.gz to a more directory.
Backup: You can also use mount/dev/cdrom/mnt/cdrom cd/mnt/cdrom to have a vmware tools Package,
2. Unzip and install vm tools in the root directory:-[root @ localhost/] # tar-zxvf VMwareTools-7.8.5-156735.tar.gz3. Go to the folder where the VM is extracted for installation. [Root @ localhost vmware-tools-distrib] #./vmware-install.pl4. Then always install OK by default. At last you have to choose the screen resolution of the VM, have your own decision.
5. After installing vm tools, click VM ---> Settings --> options;
Click Add --> set the WINDOWS shared file path and VM name -- "next
After completing the preceding steps, you can share files between WINDOWS and VM linux. [root @ localhost vmware-tools-distrib] # cd [root @ localhost ~] # Cd/mnt/hgfs/share [root @ localhost share] # ls (VM linux)
(WINDOWS)
Hope to help scholars.
