VMware VM Linux Virtual Machine hard disk space is insufficient the maximum disk size adjustment Solution

Many people set the hard disk capacity to be small to save hard disk space when installing the Virtual Machine System. The default value is 2 GB, and I set the hard disk capacity to 10 Gb, however, it was found that the disk capacity was insufficient. Virtual machines cannot be directly modified in VMware. The size of the hard disk of the VM, or the reconstruction of the Virtual Machine System, is very troublesome.

Actually, vmware5.0. (I have a command line tool under the 5.5 installation directory --vmware-vdiskmanager.exe .)ProgramCan be used to modify the disk size of a virtual machine. The method is as follows:

1. Turn off the power of the virtual machine; start the command prompt interface in windows; start-run-cmd:

2. Run the CD command to enter the installation directory of VMware. Enter D: Press enter cd d: \ Program Files \ VMware Workstation and press enter (for example, D: \ Program ).

Files \ VMware Workstation), enter "vmware-vdiskmanager", and press the Enter key to display instructions on this command.

3. Execute the following command:
Vmware-vdiskmanager-x 16 GB "D: \ redhatvm \ Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4. vmdk"
Parameter-X indicates that the disk space of the virtual machine is to be extended. The following number indicates the size of the disk to be extended (such as 16 GB, indicating the total disk volume, including the original disk capacity ); finally, the virtual machine to be operatedLinux File.

Note: If the path name contains spaces, it must be enclosed in double quotation marks.

After the command is executed, exit the Command Prompt window and restart VMware. At this time, the hard disk space of the VM has changed to 16 GB.
If the original Virtual Machine hard disk has been divided into multiple partitions, then after expanding the hard disk space through the vmware-vdiskmanager.exe, you also need to install a third-party partition in the Virtual Machine System
