I. Environment

This deployment is the latest version of VSA 5.1. Before installation and deployment, make sure that your environment meets the following hardware and software requirements.

Network Topology

This time, ESXi nested installation is used, and an X3850 server is used. After ESXi 5.1 is installed, three virtual machines are installed respectively.

Important:

• Make sure that the hardware of your ESXi server meets your requirements. For example, the server supports hardware virtualization and the available disk capacity exceeds 180 GB. the CPU and memory size meet the recommended requirements for four physical NICs.

• For nested installation, set EVC on vCenter to C: \ Program Files \ VMware \ Infrastructure \ tomcat \ webapps \ VSAManager \ WEB-INF \ classes and find dev. properties file, which contains a file about evc. configuration information of config. This option will detect EVC when VSA is configured. Therefore, adjust it to evc. config = false

• For nested installation, download the VMX files for the vCenter-ESXi-87 and vCenter-ESXi-89 to your local machine, change virtualHW. version = "8" to virtualHW. version = "9", and add vhv.Enable= "TRUE ".

• The host that needs to be added to the VSA cluster needs to exit the original cluster. Make sure to back up the cluster parameters.

 

Ii. Installation

This installation has encountered many errors, in part because some of the preceding prompts did not meet the requirements. During the installation, we also performed troubleshooting.
