What is a standard switch

Standard switches are simple switches that are managed separately by each ESXi, very similar to physical switches, but do not have some of the advanced features that physical switches have. Standard switches are simple to operate, but each configuration modification is repeated on all ESXi hosts, increasing administrative costs and resetting the network connection status when migrating virtual machines between hosts, increasing the complexity of monitoring and troubleshooting.

Creating a standard switch

Note: Consistency for each ESXI host for the same-purpose port group name
