Their own computer generally have a lot of their own secrets, a lot of friends have recently said that they have seen what movies, others use the computer can directly check to see, this caused a lot of embarrassment! What is the best way to protect your privacy? together to understand!

Don't let "Recently used items" leak.

Prepare knowledge what is a "recently used project"

Recently used items is on the right side of the Start menu, displaying a list of files that users have recently used. You can easily open the appropriate file in the list by clicking the file name in this list.

By default, the recently used projects "You can record 15 documents that the user has recently browsed or edited, although new document records that are open later will overwrite the previous document's use of the record information, but it is possible to expose your important documents carelessly, and it is easy for" voyeur "To get first-hand important information here.

The files that were visited were so leaked.

Xiao Wang sometimes watches movies on a public computer. On this day, he watched small Shenyang's "no bad Money" film on the computer. Then his colleagues who use the computer complained to him: "You see" not bad money "incredibly don't call us. "How did he know about the movie?" he asked.

As it turns out, the files he has visited are displayed in "Recently Used items", and others do not have to find the hidden folders to know the documents that Xiao Wang recently opened and edited.

Primary precautions: Open recently used items from the Start menu, right-click the name of the document you want to delete the history from, or right-click on recent items, and select clear Recent Items list to clear all the file records in the recently used items list.

Advanced Prevention Method: Right-click the taskbar select Properties to open Taskbar and Start Menu properties. window, click the Start Menu tab, remove the check box before the "store and display recently opened files list" checkbox under Privacy, and then click the Apply button. OK, you open the "Start menu" to see if the "Recently used item" has disappeared?

Mind extensions automatically erase historical information

Let "Recently used items" disappear from the Start menu, and others will not be able to see the list of files you have recently opened. But if you need to open or edit some files frequently, it seems inconvenient. It would be nice to automatically purge the list of recently opened files when you exit the system.

Use the "Win+r" key combination to open the Run window, enter "Gpedit.msc" in the Run window to open Group Policy Object Editor, expand User configuration → administrative Templates → Start menu and taskbar, and then double-click the in the right pane. Clear history of recently opened documents when you exit the system, select Enabled in the history of the recently opened documents when exiting the system, and then click OK.

Well, when this policy is enabled, the system deletes the history of the most recently used document when the user logs off. The advantage of this approach is that users can always open a file by using the history from recent projects before the user exits the system, and the recently used Items menu on the Start menu does not have any history of the recently opened document when the user logs on again.

Clear information about what's playing in WMP

Prepare knowledge player will also record playback information

Many players retain playback records after they play a multimedia file. Later, when the user plays again, the previously played files can be found directly in the playlist. The purpose of this feature is to make it easier for users to access previously played files, but if someone uses the computer, you can also learn which media files the user has previously played.

Privacy is "sold" by the player.

Xiao Cheng a few days ago in the computer to use WMP watched a movie. Later, some colleagues asked him where he had seen the movie downloaded. Small achievement wonders: "I have seen this movie how is it that people know?"

It turns out he doesn't know, after you open WMP (Windows Media Player), and then select any of the MP3 or video files that are stored on your computer and add them to the playlist. When you exit, open WMP again, press the ALT key, and click Open with your mouse to see the file record that was played.

When you play audio and video content in WMP, the system usually stores these file history and media information on your computer. If you don't want others to get your privacy when using WMP, you might as well clear out the original playlist!

How to prevent: Click the arrow under the Playing tab, click More Options, and then click the Privacy tab in the Options window. Then click the Purge history and clear cache buttons so that you can delete the history and playback CD and DVD media information for the played files. Remove the check box before saving file and URL history in the player so that Windows Media Player can continue to save playback records when it plays audio and video files again.

How the mind expands other players to erase playback records

We know that there are a lot of players in addition to WMP that will record the files that have been played. Below we will take the latest version of the Storm audio and video as an example to teach you to clear the playback record. Other players erase records in a similar way.

There are two ways to clear the playlist in the Storm video: The first is to click on "Main menu → recent play → Clear the recent play" to directly clear the contents of the playlist.

The other is to automatically clear the playlist content after each exit. Click main menu → advanced options, and in the "clear player traces" item in the playlist entry, check the properties for the corresponding playlist content that you want to clear, respectively, to clear the playlist, most recently played, and the last open URL. When checked, click OK to apply the option function.

When it is in effect, you will see that the option is checked when the main menu → most recent play → automatically clear every time you exit the player. If you turn off the storm media and reboot, you can see that the corresponding content in the playlist has been cleared.

What movie you have watched, what you have done to the computer is entirely their own privacy, for these problems many of our friends have trouble, I believe that through the above approach our friends should be able to solve these problems very well!
