Windows7 operating system after a period of use, in the notification area of the taskbar will leave a large number of invalid old program icons, these programs may even have been uninstalled. One, view the existing icon in the notification area icon
1. Click the triangle button on the right of the Windows7 flagship taskbar, as shown in Figure 1:

2. In the window that appears, select Custom, as shown in Figure 2:

3. You can see all the notification area icons in the Drop-down list box in the Notification Area icon window that appears, as shown in Figure 3:

Delete invalid old icon of Windows7 notification area
We can delete them manually through the http://www.windows7en.com/luobowin7/Registry Editor.
1. Click the "Start" button, enter "regedit" in the Start menu search box and press the ENTER key on the keyboard as shown in Figure 4:

2. In the Registry Editor window that appears, click the Edit option, and in the column that appears, select the Find (F) ... command, as shown in Figure 5:

3. In the Find window that appears, enter "IconStreams" and click "Find Next (F)" as shown in Figure 6:

4. Then the registry will search, after the search is completed, will be listed on the notification area icon of the registry key "IconStreams" and "PastIconsStream", as shown in Figure 7, and delete these two, close Registry Editor.

5. "Ctrl+shift+esc" on the keyboard, open Windows7 Task Manager.
6. In the Windows7 Task Manager window, switch to the Processes tab, locate the Explorer.exe process item, and then click the End Process button to terminate the process item. As shown in Figure 9:

7. In the Windows Task Manager prompt interface that appears, click "End Process" as shown in Figure 9:

8. Click the "file (F)" menu command and select "New Task (Run ...)" In the Drop-down menu that appears. (N) "as shown in Figure 10:

9. In the Create New Task window, enter "Explorer.exe" and click OK, as shown in Figure 11:
