Typically, a document's endnotes are followed by content that cannot be added or edited in the body's nature. This article describes a slightly "tortuous" way to solve this problem. When we add references to the paper using endnotes, this method will be useful for you if there is a body content later in the bibliography.

1, prepare the basic content of the document

We first prepare the body of the document. For example, create a blank document, enter "Here is the content of the first section" on the first page, and then insert an arbitrary type section break from the page Layout menu, resulting in the second page (also the second section); On the second page, enter "Here is the contents of section II" and insert a section break to produce the third page (also section On the third page, enter "References" and insert a section break to generate page fourth (also section fourth); on page fourth, enter "acknowledgements".

That is, the document content from front to back: The first section of the text, the second section of the text, reference section, the Thank you section.

2. Insert Endnote

We will insert the endnote at the end of each section.

Position the cursor in section 1th and click the small arrow in the lower-right corner of the menu reference-footnote toolbox to set the following in the popup window:

This means that in the entire document, the endnote information that we insert is placed at the end of each section, not the end of the entire document. After the insert succeeds, the first page reads as follows:

In the same way, an endnote at the end of the section is also inserted in the second section, such as:

3. Merge endnote information and put it at the end of the text

Here, the effect we see is that each section is followed by a corresponding endnote message. Next we'll merge them into the final section of the document, the "Acknowledgements" section.

Place the cursor anywhere in the body section (for example, ctrl+home, place the cursor at the beginning of the document), and click the small arrow in the lower-right corner of the menu "page Setup" to make the following settings in the popup window:

This means that the endnotes are canceled throughout the document. Once you're sure, we'll see that all the sections in the text are all combined together and placed in the last section, "Acknowledgements". Such as:

4. Transfer endnote information to the correct section

Obviously, the endnote information should not appear in the "acknowledgements", but should appear in the previous section of the acknowledgements (that is, the section where the "References" text is located). We just have to cancel the "Cancel endnote" in the "References" section and it's OK.

Position the cursor in the References section (section III of this example), click the small arrow in the lower-right corner of the menu "Page Setup", and in the pop-up window, set the check box in front of "cancel endnote" to not tick, and apply only to "this section",

When you are sure, you will find that the endnote information is transferred from below to the references below:



5. Summary

To sum up, the general process is to insert the endnote into the end of the section, and then in the page Setup to cancel the entire document endnote, then the endnote information will be concentrated in the last section of the document, and finally to the target location in the section of the page settings in the "Cancel Endnote" canceled.
