Ways to get and start ghost

Ghost is a backup and restore data tool software, it can partition the hard disk, or the entire hard disk into image files back down, when needed to restore the past. One of the advantages of using ghost Backup files is that you can back up or restore a 5GB file partition in about 10 minutes, and the advantage of this is that a very high compression ratio can be used to make a partition of 5GB files into a 1.5GB image file.

Ghost also has the hard disk to copy, the partition to copy and so on function, can quickly the piece of hard disk (or partition) on the data copy to another hard disk (or partition) on. Of course, for ordinary users, the most useful feature of Ghost is to back up and restore the operating system by making partitioned image files.

Ghost can save a disk image file directly to a hard disk, a removable hard disk, a SCSI tape drive, a variety of portable storage devices (JAZ, ZIP. MO, etc.), CD-ROM burner (CD-R, CD-R/W) and other media.

Ghost need to run in DOS, here are a few ways to get and start ghost.

1, the use of a key backup and recovery tool to start

The Ghost program is included in the one-click Backup and Recovery tool that is used to start the ghost as shown in Figure 1 after the tool is installed.

The ghost is very simple, and there is a menu on the left, including local, options, and quit three available options, the meaning of which is:

Local options: After the local option, there are 3 hierarchical menus, which can be used for disk-disk, disk-image, partition-partition, partition-image, etc. by selecting different menu items in the local menu.

Options option: Choose Options option to set the ghost, generally do not need our settings.

Quit option: Select this option to exit the Ghost program.

2. Start with CD

Many system installation discs or system Boot tool CDs are equipped with Ghost tools to start the computer with this type of disc, and when the selection interface appears, select the Ghost option to start the Ghost, as shown in Figure 2.

3, into the DOS after the start

This way you need to prepare the Ghost program and prepare a Windows 98 boot disk or bootable CD that can enter a DOS environment, as shown in Figure 3.
