In general, we don't use Windows Messenger as soon as we start the system, and it runs in vain to consume the system resources. If you do not want Windows Messenger to start with the system or OE, you can disable it in the following ways.
System Configuration Utility method
Click "Start" | " Run, type "msconfig" in the Run dialog box (Figure 1)
Open the System Configuration Utility dialog box when you enter. Then click the Startup tab, remove the check box in the MSMSGS option in the Startup Items list box (Figure 2), and then restart the computer by clicking the OK button.
Group Policy Settings method
Click "Start" | " Run, type "Gpedit.msc" in the Run dialog box (Figure 3)
Open the Group Policy Editor. Expand the ' local computer ' policy in turn | Computer Configuration "|" Admin Template "|" Windows Component "|" Windows Messenger option (Figure 4)
Then, in the right window, double-click "Do not allow Windows Messenger", select "Enabled" in the Properties window that appears (Figure 5), and click OK.
Registry Setup Method
Click "Start" | " Run, type "Regedit" in the Run dialog box (Figure 6)
Open Registry Editor after enter. Expand the following branches sequentially: hkey_current_user/software/microsoft/
Windows/currentversion/run (Figure 7), delete the "msmsgs" key value in the right-hand pane.
Uninstall Windows Messenger method
If you are sure that Windows Messenger is no longer needed, you can uninstall it to prevent it from running automatically, freeing up some disk space.
Open Explorer, navigate to the "C:/windows/inf" directory (where C is the system's partition letter, modify it yourself) to locate the "Sysoc.inf" file (Note that the file is hidden), open it in Notepad, and find it in the "Components" section. msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,ocentry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7 Line (Figure 8)
Delete the word "hide," and save it. Next, open the Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs, click Add/Remove Windows Components in the window that appears, remove the check box (Figure 9) before the Windows Messenger option, and then click Next to Remove Windows Messenger.
