Mozilla "Web application localization" service Prism has finally released the official version 1.0. On Friday, the company provided the download of Prism 1.0 and the upgraded API on the Prism independent website.
Prism 1.0 has taskbar icons, program settings, automatic upgrades, and other functions. Like Firefox, you can also understand private data such as user names, passwords, and browsing history. Prism may be used as a plug-in the next-generation Firefox, because Chrome already has similar features.
Based on the Firefox core, Prism supports most Internet technologies currently. Prism does not attempt to build a new Web-desktop platform instead of Web applications. It only provides an adaptive ing service that maps Web services to the desktop to form an application. Any Web application service that can run in a browser can be executed in Prism.
If you need a desktop Gmail client-like program, you only need to map Gmail into an application through Prism, and the actual running result is achieved by accessing the Web. By adjusting the size of the Gmail form, Prism places a desktop shortcut similar to an application on your desktop. You only need to click the desktop shortcut to access Gmail.
