Disk Cleanup :
Typically, you use the system's own Disk Cleanup tool. The tool first identifies files that can be safely deleted, and then selects some or all of the identity files that you want to delete.
The Disk Cleanup Tools feature: Empty the Recycle Bin, delete temporary Internet files, delete Windows temp files, delete unused Windows components, delete downloaded program files, and delete programs that are installed but no longer in use.
Disk Cleanup Tool specific steps:
1, click Start, point to All Programs, attach, System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup. Select the disk space you want to clean up, and then the Disk Cleanup tool calculates the amount of disk space you can free.
2. In the Disk Cleanup for (drive) dialog box, scroll through the contents of the "Files to delete" list, select the files you want to delete, and click OK to start the Disk Cleanup process.
After a few minutes, disk Cleanup completes, making your computer cleaner and more stable.
Note: Disk Cleanup only cleans up some temporary files and long unused compressed files, and does not save a lot of space for the disk, and its ultimate goal is to make the operating system cleaner and more stable.
Disk defragmentation:
Files are distributed to different places throughout the disk, rather than being kept on disk continuously. When the application requires insufficient physical memory, the normal operating system generates a temporary swap file on disk that uses the disk space used by the file to be virtual into memory. Virtual memory management programs frequently read and write to disk, resulting in a large amount of fragmentation, which is the primary cause of disk fragmentation.
General Windows systems have Disk Defragmenter and Disk Cleanup tools, all in the system tools. Click to enter "Disk Defragmenter", you have to select the disk to be sorted out, and then click on "Defragmentation" to organize the work, after a few minutes, disk defragmentation completed, the disk is basically no scattered files, the speed of the system is also greatly improved.
