About APNIC (Asia-Pacific Network Information centre) is an international organization that allocates B-class IP addresses as one of the five Internet registries in the world. It provides global distribution and registration services that support Internet operations. This is a non-profit, membership-based organization that includes network service providers, national Internet Registration, and similar organizations. APNIC is the Asia Pacific Internet Information Center. It is responsible for allocating IP addresses of websites in the Asia Pacific region, including 56 economic zones.

Asia-Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC) is located in Brisbane, Australia. It is one of the world's four regional Internet Registration Management Institutions (RIR, non-profit member organizations that provide IP address (V4 and V6), autonomous system (as) number allocation, and reverse DNS authorization services to 64 economies in the Asia Pacific region. Its member organizations include Internet organizations such as ISP, national (or regional) Internet Registration Management Institution (NIR. In addition, APNIC provides technical training to IP Address Allocation units in the Asia Pacific region.

Internet IP addresses and as numbers are allocated hierarchically. ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is the organization responsible for numbering IP addresses on the global Internet (IANA was originally responsible ). According to ICANN, ICANN assigns some IP addresses to regional Internet registrars (regional Internet registry), and then the RIR is responsible for registration services in the region.

Currently, there are four RIR in the world: Arin, ripe, APNIC, lacnic. arin is mainly responsible for business in North America, ripe is mainly responsible for business in Europe, lacnic is mainly responsible for business in Latin America, and IP address and as number allocation in countries in Asia Pacific are managed by APNIC. There may also be some registrars under RIR, such as national registrars (NIR) and general regional registrars (LIR ). These registrars can obtain Internet addresses and numbers from APNIC and assign them to their subordinates.

China's national registered institution is China's Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC ).
APNIC's IP Address Allocation Policy is strict. Limited IPv4 address resources are the main reason for the strict allocation policy, the limited growth space of global route tables is another important reason for strict allocation policies.
APNIC Address Allocation Policy highlights:
N use the address space that the provider can cluster to allocate
N provider has the responsibility to maintain address clustering
n the customer's address must be not portable
N address allocation based on confirmed requirements
N detailed document description
n all address spaces held must be declared
N address space is obtained from a source
N routing considerations
N cannot hoard addresses
