What is query string?

On the World Wide Web,Query stringIs part of the uniform resource locator (URL), which contains the data to be passed to the Web application.

 

When a page is requested through Hypertext Transfer protocol, the server locates the requested file in the file system based on the requested URL. This file may be a common file orProgramIn the second case, the server needs to run the program and then return the running result as a page.Query stringIs part of the URL passed to this program. Through its use, we can allow us to send data from the HTTP client to the application that generates web pages.

Features:

1. The variable names and variable values are separated by the = sign.
2. Multiple parameters are separated by Ampersand, '&' or semicolon.
3. The characters in the parameter use URL encoding.
