The difference between a process and a thread

  • A program has at least one process, and a process has at least one thread
  • Processes do not affect each other, multiple threads of the same process can execute concurrently
  • One thread can create and revoke another thread, and the execution process is expensive but secure
  • Threads are the basic unit of CPU scheduling and allocation
