Preface: in a log, a friend asked me, "which direction do you think is the most profitable in testing this profession, at least comparable to development, I couldn't help thinking. I 've been wandering about this problem for some time. No one can see the clear direction at the beginning:

I. Test path-entry point of the test field

--- No matter what you do, the demand determines the orientation, and the mentality determines the trend

In this field of testing, after a short period of freshness, it is certainly monotonous and confused. There will certainly be a pile of thoughts, a pile of helplessness, and a pile of sighs; by testing this industry, many people cannot see the future;

I think there are several reasons why you are confused.

1. Environment problems. In China, the importance of testing is far from enough.

2. Work skill issues. Many tests involve a large number of repetitive jobs and cannot accumulate their core competitiveness through time.

3. Personal preferences.

Many people like to compare testing with development. In fact, this is also true, but the process of comparison does not grasp the essence. Many people see the difference in work, different wages.

What is the difference between testing and development? Why do many companies in China make development more money than testing, in fact, development creates more value for the company than you, and it brings more benefits to the company than you do.

At the beginning of a company's business, the most important talent is sales.

The most important talent in a company's development is management.

Finance is the most important talent for a company to grow.

Therefore, each company and each stage have different requirements for talent. The key lies in how to grasp this stage and demand.

Therefore, on the way to testing, I personally think that it is not to discover which industry is the most profitable, not to compete with development, but to understand the essence and grasp the needs. This is the starting point and a positive attitude, now that you have entered the testing field, if you do not reject it, you need to believe in its existence value. The key is how to use it.

 

Ii. Test path-development in the testing field

--- The more you drill into each field, the more you will feel its size and the smaller you feel.

I personally think that, in fact, no one can make the most money in the testing field, and no one can say it because it is incomparable;

Some people say that the development of testing is divided into management and technical directions. However, I think the two are complementary and indispensable.

A person without technical knowledge is hard to manage; a person without technical knowledge is also hard to manage. (Purely in commercial and Market Perspectives)

How can I convince people who do not understand technology or management? Do not understand management, only understand technology, how to do a good job of demand and communication? Therefore, both of them need to be learned and summarized continuously.

I thought about the trend in the testing field:

1. The development of cloud computing, due to cloud reasons, the rapid expansion of computing capacity and data volume, the difficulty of testing will become greater and greater, so testing experts will pay more and more attention

2. Continuous integration development: As the development model changes, testers have higher and higher requirements. testers with solid development capabilities will pay more and more attention.

I thought about the career development in the testing field:

1. Product or demand route; because of the product understanding in the testing process and the accumulation of customer needs, it is easy to embark on this route.

2. Manage the route. By grasping the entire test process and communicating with others, you can take the technical team lead, supervisor, or even the manager's route.

3. Routes of testing experts. Through continuous learning of testing concepts, we have a high level of understanding of professional testing skills.

4. Technology and architecture; research on automated testing, understanding of the automated testing architecture and the automation process, taking the path of testing and development, automated testing architecture design, and automated process management.

5. QA route; the quality process of the entire company is monitored through understanding of the quality assurance process and specifications.

6. Development Route; Software testers demonstrate their good coding capabilities during the test and embark on the development path.

Therefore, the development of the testing field is comprehensive. In fact, its development is wider than that of developers, however, the reason why most testers cannot compare with developers is that they do not have enough depth to meet their needs. Just like automation, if you stay on recording and tool usage forever, and cannot go up to requirement analysis and grasp of the framework and process, then it will always be superficial. Therefore, through the analysis of your own personality and interests, as well as the grasp of the entire testing industry, ultimately determine your own development direction, step by step, demand-oriented, in demand for development.

 

Iii. Test path-accumulation of testing Fields

Maybe, No matter what others say, we don't have our own experience, we can't see through the essence, we can't understand, so we are still confused;

I remember that when I was in college, I was also confused. This is a learning point, at that point, when I graduated, I regretted that I was not proficient in one thing. Later I found that many things were used at work. At least I found that my self-learning ability has improved a lot, this is the most important thing.

Iv. Test path-sharing in the testing field

I just said some of my feelings, maybe correct or wrong.
