What does explicit memory mean?

What is the role of video memory?

To put it simply, the function of video memory is to prepare things that are about to come into reality and transmit them to the core of the video card through the video memory width. What types of video memory are available?

Currently, the main types of memory used in the market are SDRAM, ddr sdram, and ddr sgram. At present, SDRAM particles are mainly used on low-end graphics cards with a frequency of generally no more than 200 MHz. It has no advantage over DDR in terms of price and performance, so it is gradually replaced by DDR. Ddr sdram is the mainstream in the market (including DDR2 and DDR3). On the one hand, it is a mature process. Batch production leads to lower costs, making it cheaper; on the other hand, it can provide a high working frequency and bring excellent data processing performance. As for ddr sgram, it is a graphics card manufacturer that specifically targets the needs of the graphics, in order to enhance the graphics access processing and drawing control efficiency, from Synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM) improved products. SGRAM allows you to individually modify or access data in the memory in Blocks (Blocks). 8. RDRAM

It is mainly used for high-speed emergency operations, with access frequency up to 500 MHz, while traditional memory can only be accessed at 50 MHz or 75 MHz. The 16-bit bandwidth of RDRAM can reach 1.6 Gbps (the maximum bandwidth of EDO is 533 Mbps), and the 32-bit bandwidth can reach 4 Gbps.

Memory Capacity

The video memory capacity is the number of video memory on the video card, which is one of the key parameters for selecting the video card. The memory size determines the amount of data temporarily stored in the video memory. The memory size of the video card is 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB, and MB. What does the memory width mean?

If the same memory frequency is 128-bit and 256-bit memory of 128 MHz, the two memory bandwidths are: 500-bit = 128 MHz? 8 = 8GiB/s, while 256 bits = 500 MHz * 256? 8 = 16GiB/s, which is twice the size of 128 bits. This shows the importance of the memory width in the memory data. The video memory of a video card is composed of a memory chip. The total width of the video memory is also composed of the bit width of the video memory particles. The video memory width = the size of the video memory particles × the number of video memory particles. The memory number of the relevant manufacturers is included in the video memory particles. The higher the video memory width, the higher the performance and the higher the price. Therefore, the high-width video memory is more used for high-end graphics cards, while the general graphics cards use 128-bit display width, while the 1024-bit video card is a top-level video card.

There are two main formats of video memory encapsulation: TSOP and BGA. Generally, the BGA package contains 32 bits, while the TSOP package contains 16 bits. If the video card uses four BGA-encapsulated video memory, its bit width is 128 bits, and if it is eight TSOP-encapsulated particles, the bit width is also 128 bits, however, if the video card only uses four TSOP-encapsulated particles, the video memory width is only 64 bits.
