1. Sde (software development environment) is a cross-Development System of software engineers. It is a component of the MIPs software toolkit (MTK.

2. MTK not only includes SDE, but also other tools and libraries to accelerate the development of high-quality, high-performance applications that run on the MIPs core.

3. Another key component of MTK is the mipssim simulator.

8. mips sde lite subset
As we all know, the GNU tool is released for free. MIPS Technologies provides a subset of Sde for free download, called SDE lite, which has the same features as the full version, however, its proprietary runtime software only provides pre-compiled libraries without source code. There is no technical support for the free Lite version.

9. Sde can run on UNIX and Windows platforms. cygwin is required to run on Windows.

Ii. Install mips sde Lite
1. System Requirements
· X86 Platform: 2000, XP, with cygwin1.5.11 and later; RedHat linux7.1 and later, with glibc2.2.3 and later.
· AMD-64 platform: RedHat Linux with glibc2.3.2 or above
· ISCSI platform: solaris2.6 and above

Memory requirement: 64 MB or more

Disk Space: More than MB

2. environment variable settings
You can use the sdeenv script. (.../Bin/sdeenv. Sh)
Two types:
· For all users: copy the sdeenv file to the/etc/profile. d/directory, which will be automatically executed.
· For current users: add a line in the personal shell STARTUP script (. Profile,. cshrc,. tcshrc) and call the sdeenv file.

3. Installation
Download PN00115-06.61-2B-MIPSSW-LSDE-v6.06.01.tgz, address:

Unzip the package in Linux and run:
CD decompress directory
Sh bin/sdesetup. Sh
Start installation!
1) Identify the short name of the MDI device, such as mipssim4 and sysnav.
2) Add a device description, for example, mipssim version 3.4.15.
3) directory name for installing the mipssim Software
4) if fs2 probe exists, the script automatically searches for the fs2 MDI library and creates a configuration file.
