Sometimes opening a Word document may result in a pile of garbled characters. Don't worry. You can try to save your files through two methods provided by computer enthusiasts.
I. Replacement format
The damaged Word file is saved in another format.
1. Open the damaged document, click the "file/Save as" menu, select "RTF format" in the "Save type" list, click "save", and close word.
2. Open the saved RTF file and use "Save as" to save the file as a "word Document" again. Now, open the word file and you will find that the file has been recovered.
If the file cannot be restored after being converted to the rtf format, you can convert the file to the plain text format (*. txt) again, and then convert it back to the Word format. Of course, the image and other information will be lost when the file is converted to a txt file.
Ii. Method of deleting format information
The last paragraph symbol in a Word document records the format information of the entire document. Sometimes, deleting the format information can be restored to a garbled file.
1. After opening the damaged document, click the "tools/options" menu, select the "edit" tab, deselect the "use smart section to select a range" check box, and then click the button. In this way, the file can be repaired.
2. Select all content other than the last paragraph, and paste the content to the New word file.
