Like the locks and keys on the home, the vro management account and password are used to protect the security of the vro. If you forget to manage the password, it is like losing the key in your pocket that you cannot enter the house. Therefore, we need to conduct some troubleshooting and operations to help you re-enter the "home ".
For TP-LINK routers,
Manage all user namesAdmin,You do not need to manage the user name when logging on to the new vro. Therefore, our focus is on how to find the password or the operation steps after the password is not found.
What should I do if I forget my password?
Step 1: enter admin in the logon password box. If you need to enter the user name, enter admin. If admin cannot log on, continue to the following steps.
Step 2: restore the vro factory settings and reset the management password.
Vro reset method: Find the RESET button or RESET hole of the vro, as shown in the following figure:
When the vro is powered on, press and hold the RESET key for more than 5 seconds. If the indicator light is on (some vrouters are system indicators flashing at the same time), the RESET is successful. (Hold down the RESET hole with a clip needle and other sharp objects ).
What should I do after vro is reset?
After the vro is reset, the vro is in the factory status and cannot access the Internet directly. You need to reset the router, that is, connect to the broadband line, log on to the router management interface, and set the router to access the Internet.
Questions you may be concerned about
[1]Router prompt input6Bit password, enterAdminTalent5Is the guidance incorrect?
A: The six-digit password of the vro is the management password set when the vro is set for the first time. Because you forgot the password, entering the six-digit password or admin cannot solve the problem. We recommend that you enter admin for some earlier vrouters. If your key is lost, you should not mind using another key to try whether it can be unlocked.
[2]There are many important configurations in the vro. Can I retrieve the password without resetting it?
A: If you cannot log on by entering admin in the password box, you can only reset the password. Commercial routers with serial ports can try to retrieve their passwords through serial ports.
The configurations (settings, account and password) in the vro must be reset. We recommend that you back up the configuration next time.
[3]Why do I need to enter the password on the logon page after resetting?
A: The vro has a default management password at the factory, or you need to set a management password. After resetting, log on to the management page. Follow the prompts in the logon box to enter or set the management password.
[4]Reset key (RESET) Failed or failed to reset. What should I do?
A: Please follow the reset instructions strictly. If you still cannot reset after multiple operations (that is, the indicator does not have a transient, always bright, full bright reset status ), this may be caused by a reset key hardware problem. You need to contact the Office for repair.
[5]How do I set a wrong password?
A: There must be a reason for the password error. If a logon error is prompted after the reset, the following possible reasons are as follows:
Input Error: Enter the correct password. The username and password of the old vro are admin, and the new vro version must have six or more management passwords.
Error page:It may be that the line connection is wrong and enters the cat's interface. Please refer to the router settings guide, ensure that the connection is correct and strictly follow the login address on the router back labels to log on, confirm that the page appears is the page of the TP-LINK.
Clear cache:Clear the browser cache or log on with a new browser.
[6]Third-party software management router
A: Our vrouters do not support third-party software management. We do not recommend this type of software. Use a browser for management.
If you cannot enter the house, you may lose the key, take the wrong key, or enter the wrong house. There is always a specific reason. You need to observe and perform effective operations to try to restore the house to normal use. In addition, you also need to back up important configurations and record passwords in case you forget them.
