Printer offline cannot print symptom: The printer cannot print, and the printer's status as "Offline" is displayed on the computer, sometimes the indicator light flashes.
Printer offline cannot print failure reason: Use a non-original ink cartridge or use a re-inking cartridge. The printer status is not set correctly.
Printer offline cannot print workaround: A task that is not able to print because the printer is offline or the print spooler fails to process will remain in the print task list, causing the print queue to jam and print, and the printer status to be "offline."
Steps/Methods

In the Windows 7 operating system, tap Start () → devices and printers. In the Devices and Printers window, locate the icon for the printer.
Note: In this paper, the operating methods of HP Deskjet D2468 inkjet printer in windowsxp operating system, for example, other models of printer and operating system can be used as reference.

In the Printers and Faxes window, right-click the printer icon you are using and select the "Cancel All Documents" menu item. As shown in Figure 2, all documents are removed:

In the Printers window, click the Yes button. As shown in Figure 3 of the printer:

Power off the printer, disconnect the USB cable from the printer, and restart the computer.
After you restart your computer, the print task is automatically deleted.
Method Two: Manually delete the print task
Do the following with different operating systems:

In the Windows 2000Pro operating system, tap start → settings → control Panel, in the Control Panel window, double-click the Administrative Tools icon.

In the Windows XP operating system, tap Start → Control Panel, and in the Control Panel window, double-click the Administrative Tools icon.

In the Windows Vista operating system, tap Start () → control Panel → system and maintenance → administrative tools. As shown in the Figure 4 management tool:

In the Windows 7 operating system, tap Start () → control Panel → system and security → Administrative tools.
Note: This article takes the operation method of Windows XP operating system as an example, the operation method of other operating system can be referenced.

In the Administrative Tools window, double-click the Services icon. As shown in the Figure 5 Service:

In the Services window, click to select any of the services, then press the "P" key on your keyboard, and then in the list of services, locate the "Printspooler" service and double-click the "Print Spooler" service. As shown in Figure 6, "Print Spooler" service:

In the Printspooler properties (local Computer) window, select the General tab, tap the Stop button, and then tap the OK button. As shown in Figure 7, stop the service:

Note: You can manually delete a print task in a folder only after you stop the printer service.

Minimize the Services window. Do the following with different operating systems:

In the Run window, enter "Spool" and then click the "OK" button. As shown in Figure 8, open the spool folder:

In the "PRINTERS" folder, delete all of the files. As shown in Figure 10, delete the file:

Note: The files in the "PRINTERS" folder are print jobs that are not executed and you need to delete them all.

To open the minimized Services window, double-click the Print Spooler service.

In the Print spooler properties (local computer) window, make sure that the startup type is set to Automatic, tap the Start button, and then tap OK. As shown in Figure 11, start the service:
