What to do when the hard drive is not found in the WinXP system installation

Reason Analysis:

The hard drive is not set correctly in 1.BIOS

If you do not set the hard drive parameters correctly in the BIOS, you will be prompted to not find the hard drive when you install it.

2. Hard Drive cable Loose

The hard drive will not be properly recognized when the computer is turned on due to loose hard cable connections.

Solution:

Step 1: After restarting the computer, press the corresponding key according to the ScreenTip to enter the BIOS (generally the Delete key or F2 key).

Step 2: Select the "Main" menu.

Step 3: If it is an IDE hard disk, select the Pirmary IDE Master and the Primary IDE Slave menu and press ENTER. If it is a SATA hard drive, try selecting from the "SATA 1" to "SATA 6" menu and press ENTER (Figure 1).

Step 4: Set all options in the selection interface to "Auto" (Figure 2).

2 Reconnect the hard drive data cable

Step 1: Power down the computer and unplug all the power plugs from the computer.

Step 2: Open the chassis.

Step 5: Reconnect the data cable securely.

Workaround:
