Upload the Converter-helper-vm.iso (32-bit) or Converter-helper-vm-x64.iso (64-bit) to the Datastore on the ESXi host. These two files are located in the following directory on the host where converter is installed:
C:\Program Files (x86) \vmware\vmware VCenter Converter standalone\
Note: 1, if the conversion 2003, the hard disk interface to choose LSI SCSI, otherwise it will not be able to open the machine, there is an error message.
2, if the conversion 2008, the hard disk interface to select LSI SAS, otherwise it will not be able to open the machine, there is an error message.
When the above interface appears, click on the optical drive icon above to disconnect the current connection. Then choose to load the previously uploaded ISO file from the Local Datastore, and then find that the above interface jumps quickly.
Linux low version (redhat5.5 below) PV considerations
1, convert the Linux host, the hard disk must be converted to LSI SCSI adapter card, otherwise can not be turned on the machine
2, the final set-up phase, be sure to turn off the "reconfigure" option, or it will fail to convert
3, Virtual machine version Please select version 7.
After the conversion, the network card information will be left behind and changed as follows:
Rename the ifcfg-eth2 to Ifcfg-eth0, and then go to change the contents of the/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules, the ETH0 network card mac correct address.
