When Lenovo ThinkPad Helix2 BIOS is upgraded from 1.80 to 1.82, "Flash Authentication Verification Failure" is displayed"

Fault symptom:

The BIOS version of Helix 2 is updated from 1.80 to 1.82. After restart, the "Flash Authentication Verification Failure" error message may be displayed. Then, the system shuts down and the BIOS update fails.

Affected models: ThinkPad Helix 2 (20CG and 20CH)

Solution:

When the BIOS is upgraded from 1.80 to 1.82, no 100% error is reported. If such an error occurs, see the following instructions:

1. First confirm the current BIOS version of the machine. If the BIOS version is 1.80 or 1.82, an error may be reported during the upgrade due to Flash Authentication Failure.

2. If biossag is 1.80or 1.82. decompress the biosfolder, run winuptp.exe/fbc/s in the biosdecompressed folder, and run winuptp.exe/s again.

3. Restart and check whether the BIOS version is successfully upgraded.
