I. Cancel sharing of the user name and password entered by printing on Windows XP host computer
1. Click the Start menu in the lower left corner of the computer, and then select run ].
2. In the Run box, enter secpol. msc and click OK ].
3. Double-click local policy ].
4. Select security options. Find account: a local account with a blank password can only log on to the console. Double-click to open the account.
5. Select enabled and then click OK ].
II. Cancel sharing of the user name and password entered by printing on Windows 7 host computer
1. Click the Start menu in the lower left corner of the computer, enter secpol. msc in the search program and file box, and press enter on the keyboard.
2. Double-click local policy ].
3. Select security options, find the local account with an empty password, and double-click to open it.
4. Select enabled and then click OK ].
After the above operations are completed, the user name and password are not required when the client computer connects to the host computer for shared printing.
